Dr Cox has been involved in polymer properties, polymer processing and equipment for over 4 5 years which includes time spent at Imperial College on the experimental study of melting in screw extruders and time at Metal Box R&D where he was in a team which worked on a unique packaging product designing processing equipment to produce multilayer tubes and then a blow moulding machine to form the plastic jar. The project also involved a novel reheating process for which a patent was applied. The blow moulding machine was built in collaboration with a European company. He is now an independent consultant specialising in the machinery to produce multilayer structures. He has provided course s on multilayer structures for Smithers R apra and had given talks on sustainability . He has acted as an expert witness on several cases involving polymer products and processes. He is a Chartered Engineer, a member of the SPE and is an active member of the Plastics Consultancy Network.
